The 2022 Aled Jones ‘Blessings’ tour
At the beginning of 2022 we took on the Aled Jones concert tour which had the added complexity of being held in cathedrals and abbey’s rather than theatres or arenas.
The loading of equipment, including a piano, in and out of such old buildings which had not been designed for concert tours was the main challenge we had to manage. Without a loading area it wasn’t possible to use an artic lorry for the tour. Instead we used several vans to transport equipment. This meant we were able to park much closer to the venues which made loading in quicker and easier.
To overcome the acoustical challenges of being in large, high ceiled stone buildings we used many smaller speakers which were spaced around the venues rather than a large speaker system at front.
We used an electric piano in a wooden carcass, rather than a grand piano as it was lighter and more practical.
We provided tour management and production for this tour which visited many of the UK’s most iconic Cathedrals and Abbey’s.
Aled was accompanied by pianist Ian Tilley and guest vocalist Carly Pallotti.
